ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS - SKETCHBOOK ASSIGNMENT

Architectural elements are the unique details and component parts that together, form the architectural style of houses, buildings and structures.

You are researching architectural elements. You are NOT looking for full buildings or cityscapes. What defines an architectural element? Stairs, arches, frames, windows, doors, balconies, façade, columns, etc… Think of abstract. Getting in close.

The Elements of Art and Design Principles we will concentrate for this assignment are the following:


Elements of Art : Line, Shape, Texture
Design Principles : Contrast, Emphasis, Pattern, Rhythm


In your sketchbook you will include 3 visual examples of each element or design principle.
